How to manage your Nickit account and keep it secure.

Creating your account

Creating a Nickit account is free and takes under a minute.

  • Click Sign up in the top navigation bar.
  • Enter your name, email address, a username, and a password.
  • Your username will be visible to other users and appears on your public profile.
  • You must be 18 or over to use Nickit.

Verifying your email

After registering, check your inbox for a verification email from Nickit. Click the link in the email to verify your address. Email verification helps keep the platform safe and ensures you receive important notifications about your orders and offers.

If you don't receive the email within a few minutes, check your spam folder. You can also request a new verification email from your account settings.

Setting up payouts (Stripe Connect)

To sell on Nickit and receive your earnings, you must connect a bank account via Stripe Connect. This is a one-time setup.

  • Go to Dashboard β†’ Earnings and click Set up payouts.
  • You'll be taken to a secure Stripe onboarding flow β€” this takes around 5 minutes.
  • You'll need your legal name, address, date of birth, and bank account details.
  • Until this is complete, your listings will not be publicly visible.
  • You can return to complete onboarding at any time.

Keeping your account safe

Here are our recommendations for keeping your Nickit account secure:

  • Use a strong, unique password that you don't use on any other website.
  • Never share your login credentials with anyone.
  • Nickit will never ask for your password via email or message.
  • Only communicate with buyers and sellers through Nickit's messages system β€” avoid moving conversations off-platform.
  • Be wary of anyone asking you to pay outside of the Nickit checkout β€” this is a common scam and removes your buyer protection.
  • If you believe your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and contact us at hello@nickit.co.uk.

Reporting a user or listing

If you see something that doesn't look right, please report it:

  • Use the Report button on any listing or user profile page.
  • Alternatively, email us at hello@nickit.co.uk with details of the issue.
  • Reports are reviewed by the Nickit team, typically within 1 business day.
  • All reports are confidential β€” the reported user will not be told who submitted the report.

Account bans & policy violations

Nickit reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban accounts that violate our terms of service. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Selling counterfeit or prohibited items.
  • Misrepresenting items in listings (fraudulent descriptions, fake photos).
  • Harassing or threatening other users.
  • Attempting to conduct transactions outside the platform.
  • Creating multiple accounts to evade a previous ban.
