Payments & Fees
Understand how money moves on Nickit β from buyer checkout to seller payout.
How payments work
All payments on Nickit are processed securely by Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment platforms. When a buyer checks out:
- The buyer's card is charged immediately at checkout.
- Funds are held by Stripe until the order is fulfilled.
- Nickit deducts its platform fee, then releases the remainder to the seller.
We accept all major debit and credit cards. Nickit never stores your card details β everything is handled by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure.
Platform fees
Nickit charges sellers a platform fee on each completed sale. The fee is calculated as a percentage of the item's sale price (excluding shipping) and is deducted automatically before payout β sellers never pay anything upfront.
- The current fee percentage is shown at the bottom of every page and in your seller dashboard.
- Shipping costs are passed through to the seller in full β no fee is charged on shipping.
- There are no listing fees. You only pay when you make a sale.
Payouts (sellers)
Sellers must connect a bank account via Stripe Connect before their listings go live. Once connected:
- Payouts are sent directly to your connected bank account.
- Funds typically arrive within 2β7 business days after they are released, depending on your bank.
- You can view your payout schedule and history in Dashboard β Earnings.
- To set up or update your payout account, go to Dashboard β Earnings β Set up payouts.
Buyer fees
Buyers pay the listed item price plus any shipping cost set by the seller. There are no additional buyer fees or hidden charges at checkout. The total you see at checkout is the total you pay.
Refunds
Refunds may be issued in the following circumstances:
- The item was not received and the seller cannot provide proof of postage.
- The item was significantly not as described.
- A dispute was resolved in the buyer's favour by the Nickit team.
Refunds are processed via Stripe and typically appear on the buyer's statement within 5β10 business days. See our Returns & Refunds guide for more information.
